Notilyze and MDM Motorsport join forces for SAS Hackathon 2026

Millions of data points. Seconds to make the right decision. For the SAS Hackathon 2026, Notilyze and MDM Motorsport are teaming up to explore how racing data can be transformed into actionable intelligence, helping teams make faster and smarter decisions when every millisecond matters.

A race weekend generates an enormous amount of data. Data from the cars, sensors, external systems and other sources can provide valuable insights into performance and setup. But there is a fundamental challenge:  there is far more data available than a team can realistically analyze manually, while decisions often need to be made within seconds.

That is the challenge MDM Motorsport and Notilyze are taking on together as  Team Fast & Curious  in the SAS Hackathon 2026.

From racing data to actionable intelligence

MDM Motorsport, competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, knows the racing side of the equation. As CEO Dennis Bus explains, one of the challenges the team faces is preparing the great amount of data generated by the cars and external programs, followed by performance analysis and optimisation of the car’s setup.

“We are looking for partners who can help us process the millions of data we have in order to make the setup of the car better and, in the end, get more performance out of the driver and the team.”

For Notilyze data scientist Amalia Musters, this is exactly where the collaboration comes in:

“That is exactly the problem we're solving today. We are Team Notilyze, partnering with MDM Motorsport to transform racing data into actionable intelligence, to make faster, smarter decisions when every millisecond matters.”

Combining two areas of expertise

The partnership brings together complementary expertise. MDM Motorsport understands the racing environment, the decisions teams need to make, and the demands of a race weekend. Notilyze brings expertise in data, analytics and AI.

As MDM Motorsport puts it:

“We know the racing side. They know the data. Let's see how far we can go together.”

Together with  Hjelte Racing, the teams will investigate how SAS technology and advanced analytics can help turn large volumes of racing data into insights that can be used when they matter most.

When every millisecond matters

The goal isn't simply to analyze more data. It is to  find the right signals quickly and turn them into decisions.

During a race weekend, there is little room for lengthy analysis. Teams need to understand what is happening, identify what matters, and determine what action to take,  all under a significant stressful environment, with many split-second decisions to be made as a reaction to an unexpected event.

That makes motorsport an ideal environment for exploring the next generation of data-driven decision-making when the stakes are high

Team Fast & Curious is ready to hit the track.
