What does your function as a Data Engineer at Notilyze look like?
As a Data Engineer within Notilyze you work together within a team to realize and answer data-driven challenges. Notilyze has dozens of (international) customers which we assist in setting the next step towards being a data-driven organization, using SAS, SQL or open source software (Python, R). Besides doing analytical work, we also develop products for sectors such as Healthcare, Logistics, Finance, Marketing and Industry. As a Data Engineer you will fill your days with:
- Taking note of established information needs (goal)
- Acquiring and making data sources accessible
- Analyzing the available data
- Report data quality in relation to the goal and propose solutions
- Combining data into usable datasets for analysis (ETL)
- Conducting analysis based on vast amounts of customer data (performance)
- Visualizing data to provide insight to the customer (data discovery)
- Integrating (decision) models and automating data processes (API)
- Documenting solutions (data dictionary)
- Planning, monitoring and solving calamities
- Dealing creatively with customer inquiries. Defined based on your knowledge and expertise. This gives you freedom and responsibility in your position.
- Involvement in the entire process with the customer. From the initial question to putting the dashboard into production and continuously evaluating and optimizing.

- Guarding our quality by participating in thinking about our conventions and internal processes
What do you bring?
You have strong communicative skills and as such are able to collaborate well within an Agile team. You have the ability to distinguish between main and secondary issues and proactively contribute with new and innovative ideas. In addition, we hope to find the following on your resumé:
- A completed education in the field of data engineering, data analysis or sufficient relevant experience
- Depending on your level 0 up to 10+ years of relevant working experience
- A healthy affinity with documenting processes
- A good command of the Dutch and English languages
The following would be a plus, however this can also be learned on the job:
- Experience with SAS
- Experience with BI tools and SQL
- Knowledge of and experience with tools such as, JIRA, Git & Confluence
